Career
I often joke that I started at the top and worked my way down!
Straight of out university, my first job was with one of the "top-four" accounting firms. These days I'm my own boss. In between...well... it would be an understatement to say that my work has been varied.
Roles: Chief Financial Officer, Business Services Manager, Fund Accounting Manager, treasurer, teacher, educator.
Places: "big business", small businesses, online, schools, universities, public sector, charities.
Countries: New Zealand, England including Guernsey, Scotland, Turkey, Malaysia.
Some companies you may have heard of: Deloitte, Nomura Securities, BBC Worldwide, Viacom, Virgin Media, Deutsche Bank, State Street.

Interests
The big one - the one that had me travelling around the world - was a sport called Ultimate.
I was also passionate about Indoor Netball. Both of these involved winning national championships.
Then there was: basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton - all at a competitive level. These days I simply try to get out for regular walks. Sometimes just getting out of the sofa is challenging enough!
I've always been keen on photography, but since the introduction of point and click phone cameras the quality of my shots has dropped dramatically.
Like many, I'm a gamer. Most days you will find me on Hearthstone which is an off-shoot of sorts from World of Warcraft.
When I was younger, I had little idea how much I enjoy being creative (this website has been created by me). I love playing with pics, fonts and graphics. I'm having a lot of fun with AI tools that help me to create entertaining materials for inside and outside of the classroom.
Lastly, I'm very curious about things. AI has been a boon here. It's an unusual week when I haven't asked AI at least 10 questions on random topics that pop into my mind.
